Club History

     In 2002 Coach Frank Lukanich Jr. founded the Hilltoppers Wrestling Club.

    Coach Lukanich has over 50 years of wrestling experience and began his wrestling career in Norfolk Virginia under the tutelage of Wrestling Great Billy Martin of Granby High School. Coach Lukanich has taken those fundamentals learned from Coach Martin and has expanded upon them throughout the years. Those of you familiar with this areas wrestling programs know about the Brookville Bees Wrestling Club. After conducting years of practices at Brookville without a Formal Club formation, Coach Lukanich with the help of a good friend officially founded the Bees club in 1981 and was the active Head coach until 2001. His program helped build a great wrestling program at Brookville High school.

    When Frank's son Chris Lukanich became the Head Varsity wrestling coach for E.C. Glass High school in 2001, Frank recognized the need for a wrestling club that would help support the E.C. Glass Varsity wrestling program. With the help of his son Chris he started what is now known today as the Hilltoppers Wrestling Club.

    The club has grown from a handful of young wrestlers and coaches with limited support and resources to almost 40 young wrestlers 10 coaches and lots of support from our parents, E.C. Glass High School and the Varsity wrestling program. Without their support there would be no Hilltoppers Wrestling Club.
